I made this little guy for fun one evening, then I made another and another.. Now I have several! They are just so cute and you can vary them so much. Then I thought if I like my little hedgehogs so much maybe others will too. So here’s a free pattern for it. Enjoy!
A printable PDF version is available in my Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/iduncreations if you prefer that or if you want to support me as a designer. That’s always appreciated of course 😉

Information
Skill level: Easy
I crocheted with the right side out (clockwise) and the parts are crocheted in a spiral. The rounds are not joined with a slip stitch. Place a piece of yarn in the last stitch of every round so you know when the round is finished.
To close openings you sew around the front loops and pull the yarn. You can see a photo tutorial here: Tutorials – IdunCreations
Let’s start!
You start by crocheting with both the colours you have chosen.
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2: inc x 6 (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4-7 (4 rounds): 18 sc (18)
Round 8: dec, 6 sc, dec, 8 sc (16)
Round 9: 3 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec, 2 sc (14)
Round 10: 4 sc, dec, 3 sc, dec, 3 sc (12)
Fill the body with polyfil.
From here you only use the colour you want your hegdehog’s head to have. Fasten and cut the other yarn.
Round 11: 2 sc, dec, 6 sc, dec (10)
Round 12-13 (2 rounds): 10 sc (10)
Round 14: dec x 5 (5)
Fasten off and close the opening. Hide the end inside the head.
Sew the eyes to the head, using the sewing thread. Place them between round 3 and 4. I have 3 st between the eyes.
Use the other colour that was used on the body (not the one used for the face) to create a little nose. Go out through the centre of the snout area. Sew 3-4 times around the last round. Fasten off and hide the ends inside the body.
Use the same colour as you used for the face to make feet. Make 6 st over round 8 to make the first foot. Make the next one approximately 1 cm away and make 6 st over round 8. Place the feet centraly underneath the body.
Repeat the same thing on round 4.
Fasten off and hide the ends inside the body.
Make ears using the same colour as the face and feet.
Sew 5-6 st between round 4 and 5 to create ears. Place them above the eyes.
Finished! I hope you had fun!
